What We Do

Following our mission to "promote a safe and compassionate community,” Hotline Outer Banks not only provides immediate short-term help to individuals and families in crisis, but we help them work toward long-term solutions. We make it possible for those who want to be free from violent relationships, to succeed. We make hope real.

  • Hotline Outer Banks supports individuals and families impacted by domestic violence through court advocacy, safety planning, emergency shelter, and connections to legal aid and translation services. We help prepare protective order paperwork, accompany clients to court hearings, and provide a steady, supportive presence as survivors move toward safety and stability.

  • It doesn’t matter what you were wearing, what you were drinking, who you were with, or what you may have agreed to in the past — sexual assault is never your fault. After an assault, it can be difficult to know what to do next or where to turn for help. Hotline Outer Banks provides compassionate, confidential support for survivors of sexual assault. Our trained advocates can help you understand your options, connect you with medical care, accompany you through reporting or legal processes if you choose, and provide emotional support .

  • Hotline Outer Banks provides advocacy, support services, and community resources for survivors of human trafficking. Our full-time Anti-Human Trafficking Advocate works closely with local agencies, law enforcement, healthcare providers, schools, businesses, and community partners to help identify trafficking situations, support survivors, and connect individuals to critical services. We are committed to increasing awareness, strengthening prevention efforts, and helping survivors move toward safety, stability, and healing.
