One of the organization’s earliest milestones came in 1983, when the Outer Banks Community Foundation awarded its very first grant to Hotline. That funding helped establish a toll-free crisis line for Hatteras Island residents, making it possible for people in need to reach support without the barrier of long-distance charges.
Since then, Hotline Outer Banks has continued to grow and expand services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking throughout the Outer Banks.
The Hotline Outer Banks Endowment Fund
Hotline Outer Banks partners with the Outer Banks Community Foundation to manage the Hotline Outer Banks Endowment Fund, a permanent fund that helps support our mission for generations to come.
Gifts made to the endowment are invested over time, and earnings from the fund help sustain services, advocacy, prevention efforts, and survivor support programs throughout our community. Because the fund is permanent, your gift continues making an impact well into the future.
The Community Foundation can also help donors explore a variety of giving options, including:
- Planned or legacy gifts
- Gifts through wills or estates
- Appreciated stock or real estate donations
- Charitable trusts and other long-term giving opportunities
Every contribution helps strengthen Hotline’s vision of an inclusive community free from interpersonal violence.
